Let us introduce you to CoLiDo, who offer a comprehensive range of 3D printers, filament and accessories to the 3D printing world. CoLiDo – although once established by a determined, passionate entrepreneur – is now powered by Print-Rite, who are pioneers in the aftermarket consumable industry. They have over 30 years of R&D experience, a global presence spread across 120 countries and are dedicated to making 3D printing accessible to all. From users at home and in education, through to those at a more professional level, CoLiDo have a 3D printer to suit every need.

CoLiDo Compact

The smallest in the CoLiDo range is the CoLiDo Compact 3D printer. The CoLiDo Compact’s small footprint, together with the fact it doesn’t need to be calibrated before use, makes it the ideal 3D printer for schools looking to put their printer away in-between lessons. But don’t be fooled by its size, the CoLiDo Compact offers a resolution of up to 100 microns and as it has a noise rating of just 60dB it can quietly run in the background during classes. The CoLiDo Compact uses PLA filament which is odourless when printing and as it’s made from natural sugars, it’s completely safe for students of all ages. But perhaps most excitingly for schools, the CoLiDo Compact features a transparent case, which enables students to watch printing from any angle. But as the case is fully enclosed, students are prevented from touching potentially dangerously hot parts – a great safety features for schools.

CoLiDo 2.0+

Next up in the CoLiDo range is the CoLiDo 2.0+. Like the CoLiDo Compact, it’s lightweight, low noise and can print up to an impressive 100 microns. The 2.0+ features a transparent case too, which enables students to get a better visual understanding of the 3D printing process. But unlike its smaller sibling, it offers a bigger print volume of 225 x 145 x 140mm. The CoLiDo 2.0+ has the ability to print in both PLA filament which is even safe for Primary School students, as well as ABS filament which is a stronger, more resilient material that may be more suited to Secondary Schools looking to experiment with different filaments. With its patented glass platform that is coated in a special material, prints from the CoLiDo 2.0+ can easily be removed from the print bed with your bare hand once it has cooled. Then simply clean the platform with a cloth and you’re ready to print again – perfect if you’re looking to print back to back during busy lessons.

CoLiDo M2020

For those schools who aren’t just looking for an introduction to 3D printing, but who want to produce high quality prints or prototypes, CoLiDo have it covered! The CoLiDo M2020 can print up to 100 microns like the other printers in the CoLiDo range, but as its case is built from steel, it minimises shaking during printing to produce a fine quality print. In addition to this, the printer is also stronger and more durable than those made of plastic – an added bonus for schools! The CoLiDo M2020 also has the ability to print using either PLA or ABS filament and thanks to the patented glass platform, prints can simply be removed by hand, without any tools or need to reapply tape to the print bed before using it again. As it features an even bigger build volume of 200 x 200 x 200mm, that’s cube shaped, staff and students alike will have more flexibility when designing their prints and in addition to this, the touch screen panel can easily be used to control the printer, as most of its functions and settings are listed here.

CoLiDo X3045

Last – but certainly not least – is the CoLiDo X3045 which will enable schools to print industrial-type prints. The X3045 offers an amazing build volume of 300 x 300 x 450mm and it too can print up to 100 microns. Like the M2020, the CoLiDo X3045’s sturdy steel case will enable the printer to withstand the heavy usage within a school environment, whilst reducing shaking during printing too. The CoLiDo X3045 can be connected to via USB or an SD card and its one-button control panel makes it incredibly easy to operate.
